Does strength training affect height?
I have heard myths about people that did a ton of strength training and it made them not grow in height to what they could have been. I also heard that doing a ton of back squats over time actually makes you shorter. Myth or fact?
I doubt it! if there are any negative effects to height I would imagine you would have to work out a LOT! I’ve been weightlifting since I was 13 (im 22 now), and I still grew to be 6’1.
That being said if you are going to do a lot of strength training, do the same amount of work for each muscle group to keep the right proportion.
